| Seminars |
 |
When is the next Seminar?
Since all of our seminars are scheduled by request, additional seminars are added to our schedule just as soon as another group invites us to conduct one.
Since we don't select when or where the seminars are going to be held, our schedule continually changes as we receive requests.
Our website is always up-to-date and lists all the seminars that we are currently aware of. Click the Seminar Schedules link on the
left to view the current list, or call our office at (800) 445-0860 for more information. As an alternative, you may join our Email Club
by clicking the link in the top right corner. By doing so, we will email you as new seminars are added to our schedule.
If there are no seminars scheduled in your area and you don't want to wait for someone else to set one up, you may want to consider hosting your own exam review!
To learn more about organizing a seminar in your location, click the Host a Seminar link on the left.
Can I get the books before the seminar?
Yes.
Purchase the HomeStudy Program and begin studying now.
Then you can attend the seminar later for about half the normal rate. We call this our Head Start Program.
Is the Seminar approved for CE credit?
Yes.
All of our respiratory courses, except for the CRT, are approved by the AARC for Continuing Education (CE) credit (between 11 and 25.5 hours, depending on the course).
Our Radiology Review is approved by the ARRT for 14.5 hours. Click here
for more information on CE credits.
How much does it cost to repeat the seminar?
You may repeat any of our seminars for about half the normal rate, when you bring your books with you. If you want to repeat the seminar and receive new books,
it’s only slightly more. Please be aware that our online system will not be able to determine if you are repeating a seminar, so you will need to register
for the seminar by calling us at 800-445-0860 so that we can give you the discount.
What's the difference between the 3-Day and the 4-Day Comprehensive Reviews?
As far as content is concerned, there is no difference between our 3-day and 4-day reviews. The group that organizes the seminar decides for how many
days the seminar will run. In our 3-day seminar, days run slightly longer to accommodate for having only three days to
cover all of the concepts. You will receive the same materials and your instructor will review the same concepts in either seminar.

| HomeStudies |
 |
I can't find an RRT HomeStudy in the Catalog that doesn't include the CRT (or vice versa).
If you're wondering why you are unable to find a HomeStudy in our catalog that covers only the Written Registry and does not include the
CRT (or vice versa), it's because we have combined the materials into one Comprehensive bookset. Although this can be a bit confusing at first,
the reason for this is because the CRT Certification exam and the RRT Written Registry exam are now so similar in nature that it is no longer
necessary for us to have two sets of study materials. You will be tested on the same concepts for either of these exams. Individuals who use
our Comprehensive HomeStudy to prepare for the CRT will also be ready for the Written Registry exam. And for those who are already certified,
our Comprehensive materials will cover all the concepts you need to know to prepare for and pass the Written Registry exam.
Can I get the HomeStudy books without the audio CDs or cassette tapes?
Yes.
But we wouldn’t recommend it. You won’t actually save very much money and you will forfeit the Toll-Free Tutoring support and the money-back guarantee.
Plus, the audio provides additional information and explanations for the concepts that are covered in the review manual.
Is the HomeStudy approved for CE credit?
Yes.
The Respiratory Registry, Certified and Registered Pulmonary Function, Cardiovascular and Neonatal/Pediatric HomeStudy courses are approved by the AARC for Category 1
“Non-traditional” Continuing Education (CE) credit. You can earn between 10 and 32 hours, depending on the course.
Check with your state licensing board to verify acceptance of or limitations to the use of “Non-traditional” hours toward your CE requirements.
In most cases (except for the Clinical Simulation HomeStudy) you will be required to complete a Proficiency Exam to earn your CEUs, which you may obtain from our office once you have completed the HomeStudy
course. A certificate of completion is mailed to you once you pass the exam. Click here
for more information on CE credits, including how to earn CEUs for the Clinical Simulation HomeStudy.

| Registering/Ordering |
 |
Do I need a special form to register for the Seminar or to place a HomeStudy order?
No.
We are not a stickler for forms. Feel free to drop a short note
with your check or money order. All we need to know is who you
are (i.e. name, address & phone number) and what you want (e.g.
Registry Seminar in Baltimore on June 8, 9, 10 or Cardiovascular HomeStudy).
With our secure online ordering, you can place a credit card order right now.
Start by clicking the Seminar Registration or HomeStudy Ordering link to the left. If you prefer, you
can place your credit card order by phone. Call us toll free at (800) 445-0860
between 9am and 5pm Eastern Time, Monday through Thursday.
If you prefer to use our registration/order form, click the Print/View Order Form link on the left. You
will need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print this form. A download link for Acrobat Reader is available on the Print/View Order Form page.

| Guarantee |
 |
How does the Guarantee work?
All of our HomeStudy Programs are backed by a full 1-year 70% money-back Guarantee from the date of purchase. In the unlikely event that you do not pass your exam,
you have the option to return the material, cancel our assistance, and receive a refund, less 30% for processing, registration and handling.
However, since the guarantee is good for an entire year, most people choose to keep the material and re-attempt their exam with our assistance, knowing they will still be covered
by the guarantee, provided their next attempt is within the one-year period.
The guarantee applies to the individual named on the original order only. The complete package must be returned with a notarized copy or the original of your examination scores
before a refund can be issued. We must receive the package in our office within 7 days following the day you receive your failed exam results.
By keeping the material for more than 7 days following an exam failure, you have decided to continue using our help for your next exam attempt.
You also qualify for our seminar repeat rates described under the Seminars section of this page.

| Online Exam Practice: How Does It Work: |
 |
What are tokens?
We offer practice modules for the CRT Exam, the RRT Written Registry Exam and the Radiology Exam, as well as clinical simulation modules for the RRT Clinical Simulation Exam.
To use these practice modules, you will need to purchase tokens, which you add to an account that you create. One token allows you to complete one practice module of 15 questions
or one clinical simulation.
Once you have completed a module, you will be required to use another token if you want to replay the module. We encourage you to take your time as you go through each module, learning
all of the concepts presented in each question,
so that once you have completed the module, you won't feel the need to redo it and use another token.
Tokens can be used for any of the modules on our site. This means, for example, that left-over tokens you purchased while you were preparing for the CRT can be used to do practice modules for
the RRT.
Do I have to complete a module or simulation before I quit?
No.
We never want you to have to rush through a practice module or simulation, so you can stop at any point during your session. The system will remember the point at which you quit
the module or simulation. Whether you wait a day, a week, or a month to log back into the Testing Area, the system will take you right back to where you left off. Only one token
is used per module, no matter how long it takes you to complete it.
Simulations that are left unfinished for an extended period of time (usually about 6 months) are automatically cleared
from your account during our regular maintenance process. You will not lose your token. We simply felt it would be better for you to start the simulation over after so much
time has elapsed.

| Online Exam Practice: Problems/Solutions |
 |
I purchased tokens but the number of tokens on my account doesn't appear to be correct.
More than likely you are logged into an account that is different from the one under which you purchased your tokens. When you first log into your account, your username is displayed
below the token count. Make sure that the username is the one you are expecting. If not, then you may have multiple accounts on our website and your internet browser is
automatically logging you into a different account.
To prevent this, you should update your internet browser settings so that your browser does not automatically log you in. You may need to turn off the AutoComplete option and/or
remove old cookies that are remembering your account information. Here are some suggestions:
In Internet Explorer 6, select Tools from the menu bar, then select Internet Options from the drop-down menu. On the General tab, click the "Settings" button under Temporary Internet
files, then click the "Remove Cookies" button. On the Content tab, click the "AutoComplete" button under Personal information. When the AutoComplete Settings window appears,
make sure "User name and passwords on forms" is not checked. You might also click on the "Clear Forms" and "Clear Passwords" buttons to remove any saved login information.
In Internet Explorer 7, select the Tools button on the top right, then select Internet Options from the drop-down menu. On the General tab, click the "Delete..." button under
Browsing History. On the new window which appears, you can click the "Delete Cookies...", "Delete Forms..." and "Delete Passwords..." buttons to clear any saved information that may be automatically
logging you in. On the Content tab, click the "Settings" button under AutoComplete. When the AutoComplete Settings window appears, make sure "User name and passwords on forms" is
not checked to prevent your password from being saved on your system.
The history frames are not displaying properly for my clinical simulations.
Make sure that your browser options are set to always look for newer versions of stored pages when you access a web page.
To do this in Internet Explorer 6, select Tools from the menu bar, then select Internet Options. On the General tab, click the "Settings" button under Temporary Internet files.
Make sure that the "Check for newer version of stored pages" option is set either to "Automatically" or "Every time you visit the web page".
In Internet Explorer 7,
select the Tools button on the top right, then select Internet Options from the drop-down menu. On the General tab, under Browsing History select the "Settings" button.
Make sure that the "Check for newer version of stored pages" option is set either to "Automatically" or "Every time you visit the web page".
The graphical images for specific questions are not being displayed properly in the module.
Certain graphics will not display properly using AOL, Firefox and other proprietary browsers. If you are experiencing problems, try accessing our website using either
Internet Explorer or Netscape.
I am unable to hear the audio explanations in the module.
Hopefully, you had a chance to run our audio test before purchasing your tokens. You can try it now to see if your audio is working properly.
If you are using a computer at your institution, there may be a firewall that has been set up which prevents the audio stream from reaching your computer.
Ask your system administrator to open port 1755 to allow the audio stream to pass. Or you may want to try using a home computer that doesn't have a firewall set up that blocks
the audio. Many public libraries have computers with audio capabilities available as well.
If you are accessing our website from a Mac computer, you may have problems with audio, depending on the audio player you are using. We recommend trying the VLC audio player,
which you can download at www.videolan.org/vlc. Mac users who have installed this player have had success hearing the audio
on our website.
If you are using the Vista operating system, please see the FAQ below.
I'm getting a codec error when I try to play audio using Media Player 11 running under Microsoft's Vista operating system.
Unfortunately, there are known issues that prevent certain audio files from being played properly in Media Player 11 under Vista. Microsoft should be resolving
this problem in their next release; however, in the meantime, you may want to consider downloading a
Vista Codec Package to update the necessary codec files right away. Once installed, this should allow you to
play our audio files.
We do not have much control over this problem. As with any new release, issues are identified and usually will be resolved in a later release. The best we can hope for is a temporary
work-around until an update is available from Microsoft. If you are unable to update the necessary codecs on your system, consider using another computer that does not have
Vista as its operating system.
My audio stutters (starts and stop) and is difficult to understand.
Most likely, this is due to a slow Internet connection. This usually occurs if you are using a dial-up modem to access the Internet. Remember that each time you connect to the
Internet, you can potentially connect at a different speed. The problem is often fixed by simply reconnecting, since you will usually reconnect at a different speed. If the problem
persists, remember you created a login and password that is good from any computer with internet access, so you may want to consider using a friend's computer with high-speed access, or the public
library.
